Living Dex Checklist: Track All Pokémon in the National Pokédex

A living dex checklist helps you mark every species in the National Pokédex as you collect cards or complete your binder. This guide explains what a full Pokédex list covers, how to track all 1,025 Pokémon, and how to use a free online checklist built for TCG collectors.

What is the National Pokédex?

The National Pokédex is the complete numbered list of Pokémon species from every generation — currently 1,025 entries from Bulbasaur through the latest Gen 9 species. When people search for "pokedex", "all pokemon", or "pokemon list", they usually want a scrollable reference or a way to track which species they have already caught or collected.

Living dex vs full Pokédex list

A full Pokédex list shows every species in order by National Dex number. A living dex checklist goes further: you check off each species as you obtain it. For physical card collectors, that often means one card per species from any set, language, or print — not every variant, shiny, or regional form.

How to complete the National Pokédex with cards

  1. Pick a simple rule (one species = one checkbox) and stick to it.
  2. Work generation by generation — Gen 1 through Gen 9 — so progress feels manageable.
  3. Use search and filters to find gaps in your binder quickly.
  4. Export your checklist to CSV for backups or share progress images to stay motivated.
